According to a press statement by FAZ acting Communications manager Sydney Mungala which was availed to the ZamFoot Crew, six elected provincial chairpersons have petitioned FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala to meet them over the goings-on in the football fraternity.
The hexadic have indicated that they will be seeking the audience over the imminent visit of FIFA Chief Member Association Officer, Veron Mosengo-Omba and the elective Annual General Meeting that has been delayed by the covid-19 global attack.
In view of the foregoing, we elected representatives of our respective provinces have since called for a meeting with the General Secretary, FAZ. We wish to use the said meeting to prepare and consolidate our position as FAZ in readiness for the planned visit to Zambia by FIFA- reads part of the letter from the six provincial chairpersons.
The elected provincial chairpersons are David Simwinga (Western), Mwansa Kapyanga (Northern), Patrick Ndhlovu (Copperbelt), Mweemba Mujala (Luapula), Arthur Kamulosu and Chrispin Kamuna (Eastern). The six have been elected for the tenure running from 2020-2024.
FAZ held elections in six provinces in strict adherence to the FIFA approved roadmap that commenced on March 7, 2020.
Elections have been put on hold owing to the COVID-19 threat which has caused the elective congress that was initially set for March 28, 2020, to be suspended indefinitely.
