The Copper Queens will face a Select side on April 17th as part of their preparations for the 2022 Morocco Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
A 22 member squad of players who impressed from the Zone A vs Zone B match last month has been announced and will soon assemble.
Queens Academy forward Lilian Mwaba who netted a brace for Zone B and Regina Kayamboma who netted a brace for Zone A lead the squad.
Other notable names include Bauleni United Sports Academy Queens midfield ace Maweta Glory Chilenga, Goalkeeper Loveness Tonge, Norin Betani and Grace ‘Coin’ Mulaisho.
Green Buffaloes and Zambia U-20 boss Charles Haalubono has been named Select Side coach and will be deputized by Besa Chama of Indeni Roses and Jessica Chabota of Red Arrows.
Zanaco Ladies FC goalkeeper coach Sarah Chungu will be the goalkeeper coach.
The 2022 Morocco Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) will take place between 2nd and 23rd July, 2022.
The top 4 teams will qualify to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
