The boys are like wine they get better with time… We can reach the final says Bwale

Zambia U20 national team coach Charles Bwale compared his team to wine that gets better with time.

Bwale said his team did not play all that well in the opening game because they were not all that confident but improved in the second game as many of the players had gotten out of their shell.

Bwale also hinted on the possibility of the team reaching the final.

“The boys are like Wine that mature with time. When the boys played Malawi most of them were not all that confident but today the boys came out of their shell. Going forward you will see some improvements and we are likely to reach the final,” he said.

Bwale is aware of the pressure on the team heading into their third and final group game against Mozambique. The senior Mambas side beat Zambia National Team home and hence Bwale wants his boys to revenge on behalf of their senior side.

“Our fans are disappointed with the performance of the senior team and they have put hope on our boys and we have it at the back of our mind. We have to impress and put a smile on their faces. We know Mozambique humiliated our senior national team and we have to go with two swords and see what happens,” he said.

Zambia created a number of chances and could have won by a bigger margin and Bwale was disappointed with the failure to. convert chances but was happy with the win.

“It is a good result for Zambia and especially for the boys. It’s unfortunate that we missed a number of chances,” Bwale said.

Zambia have won all their two opening games of the 2018 COSAFA U20 Championships and are yet to concede a goal.
