The African way…As Napsa Stars suffer over two-hour delay at the airport in Mozambique

Zambia’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup, Napsa Stars were made to wait at the airport for over two hours to be cleared in Mozambique ahead of Wednesday’s first-round second leg clash against UD Songo.

The team who arrived in Mozambique at 10:25 were only cleared to go afternoon. The team who had to wait for health officials for medical clearance were further delayed by the holding back of their foreign players and then a mechanical fault on the vehicle assigned to the team.

“Napsa Stars FC arrived safely in Beira Mozambique at 10:25 hours but had to endure over close to 3hrs delay at the airport.
Upon arrival, the team had to wait for health officials to undergo medical clearance but the medical personnel was not on-site to undertake the procedure.

After the health clearance, our foreign players were held back for Visa clearance for over an hour while the team waited on the bus.

When all was done the bus allocated to the team failed to move as it developed a mechanical fault causing further delay to the team to leave the airport The team only left the airport at 12:45,” Narrated NAPSA Stars media and public relations officer Gwen Mulundu Chipasula from Beira.

The Pensioners who were held to a goalless draw at home will clash with UD Songo on Wednesday at the Campo do Ferroviario, da Beira.
