Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda says the technical bench has already started psyching the players ahead of the crucial Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria on 7th October in Uyo.
Nyirenda says he is aware of what awaits them in Uyo.
“We have already started working on our players’ mentality. They (Nigeria) will throw everything at us, They will use all the tricks in the book so that they have it easy but looking at our players , they have come of age,” he said.
“In Algeria, the environment on the pitch was hostile despite the good hospitality, but they (Chipolopolo) held their own,” he added
Nyirenda says Zambia still has a chance of qualifying to Russia and will do everything possible.
” Chances are still there. We will just get on that pitch for one thing – qualifying to Russia 2018,” he said
” The plan was to camp the team in Europe but now we will camp in Ghana which is closer to Nigeria. What’s important is how we work on the pitch and not the environment”.
Zambia will face Nigeria on 7th October in Uyo in a do or die Russia 2018 World cup qualifier. Nigeria are top of group B with 10 points while Zambia are second with 7 points.

I like your confidence coach, that is exactly what we want. ? Viva CHIPOLOPOLO ?
Chipolopolo iyeeee….Chipolopolo iyeeee….. Nigerians will be disappointed in their own backyards. Its normal!
Coachito, you have no idea what pressure is! Not yet. Wait till October 7th.
Why would Nigeria throw everything at you? The pressure is all on you. Zambia needs a win while a draw is good enough for Nigeria to qualify . I hope your coach takes this attitude to Nigeria. The pressure is actually on the Zambians.
I’ve been reading and laughing about the comments from football fans here in Zambia. It seems they really dont understand what awaits them in Uyo. With the way they are talking, they are already stepping on a Cobra’s tail. They think because of some U-20 school boys they are the best now. Lol. Your defeat and embarrassment is doing press up. can’t stop laughing. fingers crossed.
Kalaba and Sinkala are some of the few zambian players who can handle the pressure in Uyo. Zambia will have a really taste when they crush with Nigeria in Uyo. Kalaba still remain a key in the zambian Football team.
Not with injured people making the trip! Huh! Are they going as bustele?
Busy carrying his friends for a trip to west Africa. Am glad he has kept the team together but injured personnel must stay at home. let fit players travel
