NAPSA Stars have been boosted by the return of strikers Tapson Kaseba and Bornwell Mwape as they prepare for their trip to Mozambique to face UD Songo in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup, First round.
Head coach Mohamed Fathi is happy with the return of the duo as it gives his team more options upfront.
“We prepared well and also the coming of Tapson and Bornwell will give us more options in the front line so far so good, this game is important for us to take advantage of the pressure on the other side they played a close game here so that side they will want to win the game so they have to open up and we know when they open up we know what we are going to do so with the grace of God and God willing we can have something from Mozambique and come back happy from there,” he said.
“We told the players 0-0 scoreline it’s like a new game so we have to go with the winning mentality try to win the game or have a positive draw both results can take us to the second stage, if it comes to the worst we can keep it at 0-0 and go to the penalty shot outs and see what God will keep for us.”
Fathi feels the team is under no pressure going into the deciding 2nd Leg
“I think the injury the one we have is not that much, but we have depth on this team and everyone must be ready to carry Napsa stars going forward,” he said.
“As a team, we never put pressure on the players we never put pressure on ourselves if we put pressure on the players it will give us a negative result we just need to encourage them and we raise our concerns in the defense point and the strike point and we give them options like this we manage the game but the pressure we never played under pressure at Napsa,” he added.
Fathi has also called on the fans to keep supporting the team as they look to qualify for the playoff round.
“To our fans just keep supporting the team and with God willing, we will make Zambia happy.”
Napsa travels to Mozambique for the second leg of the first round tomorrow, Monday, January 4th ahead of Wednesday’s clash against UD Songo at the Campo do Ferroviario, da Beira.
