Tandi Mwape joins Chipolopolo camp in Ghana

TP Mazembe defender Tandi Mwape has become the latest foreign based player to join the Chipolopolo camp in Accra, Ghana ahead of Friday’s Group H Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ivory Coast in Yamoussoukro.

Mwape arrived at Kotoka International Airport at 12:00 hours local time.

The arrival of Mwape brings the number of foreign based players in camp to eight with six more remaining to complete the squad.

Those already in camp are Fashion Sakala (Rangers-Scotland), Kings Kangwa (Arsenal Tula-Russia), Frankie Musonda (Raith Rovers-Scotland), Lameck Banda (Maccabi Petah Tikva-Israel), Toaster Nsabata, Roderick Kabwe (both Sekhukhune United-RSA) and Cyril Chibwe (unattached).

The remaining six players to join camp are Edward Chilufya (Midtjylland-Denmark), Lubambo Musonda (Horsens-Denmark), Rally Bwalya-Simba SC-Tanzania), Enock Mwepu (Brighton& Hove Albion-England), Patson Daka (Leicester-England) and Gamphani Lungu-SuperSport United-RSA).

The Chipolopolo boys are in Accra on a weeklong camp as they are acclimatizing to West Africa conditions before heading to Ivory Coast on Wednesday for the crunch Group H encounter set for June 3.

Zambia will then shift attention to the June 7 home match against Comoros Islands that will be played at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
