Swedish top side BK Hacken invites Kalimina

Zambia Under-17 national team captain Jonathan Kalimina has been scouted at the on-going Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Kalimina shall remain in Sweden for a further fortnight after his Chiparamba Academy Select Under-17 exited the Gothia Cup at the last 16 hurdle after losing 1-0 to Contelao of Peru.

The tournament has attracted scouts from clubs such as Hacken, Malmo and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves and Malmo are reportedly keeping tabs on Zambia teen stars such as Nthasilwe Malupande, Caleb Musonda, Chama Chansa, Emmanuel Mbuti, Blessings Sinyangwe, and Victor Simazuwo who also impressed during the Gothia Cup.

The youngsters have a platforms to underline their bludgeoning status as the Zambia Under-17 engages in the upcoming CAF AFCON qualifiers in September and the FIFA Under-17 men’s World Cup in Qatar in November.

FAZ youth Development Officer Clifford Mulenga has disclosed that Wolves and Malmo have been left impressed by the Zambian talent and spoke highly of those who stood out and that the two European clubs shall continue monitoring the youngsters’ development through their robust scouting system.

The CAF 2007 young player of the year Mulenga expressed optimism with the future of Zambian football.

“The future of Zambian is bright if we can expose more young players globally like Chiparamba Academy have done in the Gothia Cup.”
