Week 22 matches will be in full swing this afternoon with the match of the day been in Kabwe, Kabwe Warriors will be hosting log leader Forest Ranger. Other notable matches are Zanco FC will be playing struggling Buildcon and relegation bound teams Nakambala Leopards and KYSA will lock horns in Mazabuka.
Green Buffaloes Vs Red Arrows
(Sunset Stadium-Live on SuperSport)
====================================
The Military derby as many know it, this match between Green Buffaloes and Red Arrows has been one of the low scoring derby in the country. Arrows who are coming from a loss in the hands of Zanaco FC will be trying to revive their Continental football quest as it seems so realistic for the Airforce men who are 4 points from the top 4.
White Buffaloes are only playing to finish higher on the log as both the ABSA Cup and Continental football is out of reach. After week 21 results, GBFC is 11th on the table, Bilton Musonda should do things differently this afternoon if he wants his side to walk away with 3 points.
15:00 Zanaco Vs Buildcon
(Sunset Stadium-Live on SuperSport)
====================================
Zanaco FC is a team flying on the higher grounds, Chris Kaunda has continued with his excellent performance and has gotten the team up and running after a disastrous start to the season. Their last loss came on the 8th of January 2020 in Kabwe when Aka Mwachiaba scored the only goal of the match.
The Bankers have now gone 10 games without tasting defeat and their winning run looks like will continue this afternoon, the win against Red Arrows proved how good they have been since coach Kaunda took over, they came from a goal behind to win the 2-1. They are bubbling with confidence at the moment and coming up against a struggling Buildcon, it will be like a hot knife slicing through butter.
Buildcon is having their worst season in the Superleague and is now hovering above the relegation zone, Buildcon in the last 15 games they have only won 3 games, this sums up how bad things are turning out for team Kopala. Zanaco FC won’t struggle to pick up the maximum points but in football, anything is very much possible.
15:00 Kansanshi Dynamos Vs Nkana
(Independence Stadium-Solwezi)
====================================
It’s the affair of the teacher meeting his student, Beston Chambeshi will be playing Manfred Chabinga who was his assistant at Nkana. Kansanshi Dynamos playing at home are totally a different team, Power Dynamos, Green Buffaloes, Zesco United, and Kabwe Warrior are some of the big teams who have lost at the Independence stadium in Solwezi.
It will be a defining game for Manfred Chabinga and it’s a must-win match for the coach if he wants to secure his job, Chabinga has fallen out of favor and the fans have completely lost confidence in him after a run of poor results.
There is unrest in Wusakile to be more precise at Nkana FC, there is a big gap between the players and the coach and the fans. A win will calm the supporter who jeered the coach’s decision to substitute Ronald Kampamba and the coach had to change his mind and substitute another player.
15:00 Kabwe Warriors Vs Forest Rangers
(Godfrey Chitalu Stadium)
===================================
At the beginning of the season, there is no one who thought that at this stage Forest Rangers would be sitting at the summit of the log, no one imagined that Forest will qualify for the ABSA Cup.
Since Tenant Chilumba took over the team has made its stance clear and that is playing Continental football and can not be ruled out of the title chase. Every aspect of the game has changed at Forest Rangers, their scoring has tremendously improved, only Zesco United and Zanaco FC have scored more goals than Fole Malembe and they have the second-best defensive record in the league conceding only 16 goals.
While Kabwe Warrior has not been consistent in the league and the news coming out of Kabwe is that their top scorer Jimmy Ndhlovu is fit to feature for Warrior, it is a very big boost. Kabwe Warriors have not been so good at home, they have only won 5 matches.
15:00 Mufulira Wanderers Vs Lusaka Dynamos
(Shinde Stadium)
====================================
Questions on everyone’s lips are, can Mufulira Wanderers win their first match in the new year?? Their last win was on the 2nd November 2019 when they beat KYSA 1-nil and that was the second match they have won whole season so far.
Only prayers would save Maite from been relegated, otherwise it looks like their application to Eden University has been accepted and come May they be confirmed as a scholar of the university.
A win for Lusaka Dynamos will be a great consolation to head coach Ian Bakala who has not traveled with the team as he has a bereavement. Baba Basile and Chris Mugalu will not spare Mufulira Wanderers.
15:00 Nakambala Leopards Vs KYSA
(Nakambala Stadium)
====================================
This is a game that will not change many things at bottom of the table but a win for either team will raise hope of survival, it will be a matter of who wants it the most this afternoon.
Thing seem not to work for Nakambala Leopards coach Albert Mphande, he started life in Mazabuka on a high, he won his first two matches beating Green Buffaloes and Mufulira Wanderers and hopes amongst the fans were raised.
If things won’t change for KYSA then National Division is calling, KYSA is 11 points from safety and to achieve that is more of a miracle than reality.
