Stopilla Sunzu returned to the starting line-up for French Ligue 1 side Lille for the first time since the sacking of Herve Renard to help the relegation threatened side to a 1 – 0Â win over Sait Etienne. This was the first win for Lille in the post Renard era.
Sunzu had an outstanding match at the centre of defence getting the second highest rating in his team together with Sebastian Corchia. He was a threat on a set pieces in the game.
The towering defender was left out of the team that played the first game after Lille separated with Renard and only made the bench during the weekend 2 – 0 loss to Angers.
However, he completed the entire game on Wednesday evening to help Lille to the first win since 28th October, 2015.
Lille are now one position out of the relegation zone.
In Ligue 2, Emmanuel Mayuka played the entire game when Metz suffered a 3 – 1 loss to Red Star to remain 3rd on the log.
i repeat and maintain sunzu is one of the best defenders in africa . i rate him in top three. mayuka has shown some sign of recovery and i foresee him playing top flight football next year.he is the most valuable in the team and he is working hard thats why he is playing the whole entire match.i thing i have noted sunzu can make a difference his inclusion earned lille a win. the coach will now build his defence around sunzu.i cant wait to see sunzu marking dmaria and imbramovic out of the game. keep on working chipolopolo boys. lastly if zambia continue playing without a coach i do not see them qualifing to 2018 world cup….
