Stopilla Sunzu moves to Lille from China

Chipolopolo defender Stopilla Sunzu has completed a move to French Ligue 1 side Lille.

Lille coach Herve Renard confirmed that Sunzu will be arriving in France once he secures his visa.

“Stoppila Sunzu should soon arrive to reinforce the defense, just expected him to get his visa,” Renard said.

The 26 year old defender currently plays for Shanghai Shenhua and will be linking up with his former coach at Sochaux.

Sunzu was key in the Zambia national team defence when Zambia lifted the Africa Cup under Renard in 2012.

  1. Congratulations Sunzu. Well-done great coach Renard. If your name starts with j – don’t say anything good or bad because you are illiterate.

  2. Kalaba is a very useless boy. Why is he fearing to go to France. I am lost for words. This is an opportunity of a lifetime.

  3. Sunzu was heavily criticised for moving to China by some people including highly respected people but today they the same people who are congratulating him. These people are like hot water which hardens the egg and soften the potato.. Are you not beign ashamed of yourself.. If life you should grab every opportunity which comes on your way.. Thanks sunzu for remaining calm.

  4. @ Tony Mash, Sunzu Was Critised Becoz We Dosent Want Sunzu 2 Play In Chinese Ligue We Wanted Him 2 Play In French Ligue Or 2 Remain In Europe & Now We Are Congraturating Him Coz He Is Back In Europe.

  5. @ paddy .. Nyambe is now rotten katebe he is the best defender who can partner sunzu. Nyambe is old we need to build that wil last . Lest hope polokwane wil sign katebe.

    • Oh! Okay. Didn’t realise he’s old. Prior to the accident he looked like a very decent central defender. Did I not hear that Katebe is about to go to Morocco?

  6. I don’t trust this article any links? Coz th “report”lack details,is it loan or permanent move, for how long n how much? Sorry mates forgive me if I don’t share yo confidence in zamfoot

  7. Useless, so people can’t criticize when players make pathetic moves? Mxxxxm. Very useless reasoning indeed. This is the kind of a move we needed not shaolin temple. Congrats to SSunzu. You a hard worker and will be commanding a place no doubt. Thanks Renard for looking out.

  8. This boy kalaba is a very f00lish boy he lacks seriousness. Let zamfoot interview this silly boy. Let him explain why he is scared of going to France. Renard will start him in every game and he will rub shoulders with the world’s best players in France like Ibrahim vic.

  9. Personally, I’m okay with Kalaba staying where he’s comfortable as long as he puts in 100 percent whenever he puts on the Zambian shirt. He might have personal reasons for not wanting to go elsewhere. We fans are normally quick to criticize even when we don’t have all the info on the matter. Good to see Sunzu back in Europe again.

  10. Renard should also look at Katebe who to me should partner Sunzu at the heart of our defense. He reminds me of Sichone at the prime of his career. Very composed, strong and confident.

  11. Kalaba is in a comfort zone in Congo with everything he likes at his disposal- women, beer and nice cars! He is a god there! To think of going to start from one, fighting for his position in a Very competitive team with all the discipline in terms of conduct of players makes him uncomfortable! He is assured of a position on the team sheet each time TP Mazembe play. He is also looking at his age. He is not as lethal as he used to be 5-9 years ago!

  12. Kalaba is very much interested to play at highest level.. But the contract issue . Zamfoot made it clear that the club owner is still studying the offer. And he also said that these clubs they do not want to pay so much to African players. I am sure tp mazembe demands a lot on kalaba.. The samething happened to sinkala . Renard and kalaba they communicated before they took the issue to the press.. Kalaba has been dreaming and its still his to play at highest level..

  13. Kalu this kalu that,eh aleta physical trainer Vokamba fulu, look what the physical trainer did and is still doing 4 Zambian football.

  14. Good move for both the player and the country but why is it that our current crop of players have always to look up for HR for them to break in major leagues for me that is sad, very sad.One day they will be no HR our lads will be just reduced to this thing of just going for trials.Maybe that tells alot on the caliber of our lads.

  15. Good for sunzu, & our national team he is going to get back to his game. But is the injury he got from the national team been healed completely, as far as I am concern he has never played ever since.
