Rodgers Kola moves to Greece

Zambia international striker Rodgers Kola has moved from Israel to Greece to join FC Veira of the Greece Super League.

Kola who has been on loan at Ironi Kiryat in Israel from Belgian side FC Gent has moved Veira on a one year loan deal.

He move from Kiryat with a record of 13 goals in the 2014 / 2015 season and will look for an even better season in Greece for a team which escaped relegation on goal difference.

Kola will link up with his new team mates in pre-season in Holland.

  1. Rodgers kola , sunzu, mayuka, chisamba, Kalaba, mbola, Evans , f tembo and lubambo musonda with these stars if Zambia lose to Sudan i will walk naked for two weeks

  2. Jordan ayew is going to Aston villa that boy will flop in england. Renard should buy Mayuka and hijack his move to Russia. I have confidence Mayuka will shine at lille. Lille is much better than Sochaux you will see Mayuka attacking more often.

    • Your best prospect is madly attached to tp mazembe yet you have the effontry to pull Jo Ayew down?
No wonder Zed players find mediocre leagues attractive whilst W/An boys aim high and aspire to bigger clubs.
Ba John you talk too much but speak very little.

    • Ba john u amaze me on your Mayuka analysis?????? There u are predicting Jordan’s flop at Aston Villa before he even kicks a ball but subjectively refusing to admit that Mayuka flopped at Saints. Incase u’ve forgotten even at Sochhaux. Mayuka had a good start but eventually fizzled out whille Jordan Ayew kept improving. Meanwhile Dede Ayew scored for Swansea yday. Just accept it that West African players. Are psychologically superior than ours because people like u pamper our players

      • Well said Uncle Bobs. Sense. Lets swallow our pride and admit that our players are not as good as West African players. Ours are just average or below.

  3. we want rodger kola in a national team. we are tired of yo plunk patson daka who cost us 2 points a gainst guinea bissau.

  4. Greek league is world class those who doubt don’t know football. Olympiakos, pathaniakos, aek ethens etc are big teams in europe always competing in the latter stages of the uefa champions league and europa

    • Makes me wonder if you really watch the UEFA champions league mate. The Greek league is alright and has some decent clubs, but certainly not world class. The league is definately an upgrade compared to the one in Isreal. And that’s good news for Kola. I just hope can prove a lot of people wrong once called back into the Zambian team.

  5. Considering that Greece is on the route to economic financial collapse, is this really the best move for this lad? Next we will hear how he has not been paid for so many months and so on then as we all know how Zambian players are not mentally the strongest his form will take a downward spiral. The league is good but we cant just simply forget that the economy is collapsing.

    • Good point Steve. The first thing that came to mind when I heard that Kola is going to Greece, is the economic hardship prevailing in Greece. It is affecting all sectors of the economy and Greek football is not spared. Hope all goes well for him in Greece.

  6. Greece is not a small footballing nation. They have achieved more than England over the last 10-15 years. Greece is a former European champion from 2004 and in 2014 knocked out ivory Coast from the world cup. This is not a small country in fact their league is better than belgium where kola was playing. Some great Africans like Michael essien play in Greece.

  7. The comments above make me wonder what people’s definition of “world class” is. The uefa champions league is the best club competition in the world and if a league is able to have constant representation in the group stages of that competition, does that not make it world class? The Greek league is definitely better than the Belgian league.

  8. What will he be paid with all the economic drama in Greece?

Anyway, Kola has always disappointed at national team level several times he has been called. Its like he can’t fit in the coaches system of play as a result he has fallen short. I don’t think its even about Kalu/FAZ thing. May Lwandamina will find a formula for him like he did at U20 level.

But all in all its a good move as it is a notch up in the league.

  9. Nonsence Jordan ayew can’t play in england. Mark my words he will flop. That boy cannot replace benteke. Are u dreaming.

  10. This lad has atlest esthablished himself in Europe unlike those players people are forcing HR to sign.He is able to find a club without the help of HR.Now this Patson lad is not even ready and the owner even has the thing of saying he was not signed because he is below eighteen, that is rubbish, the lad was not signed because he is not special. Those people know a gem when they see one.

  11. Not to keep on harping about Jordan Ayew, but for him to succeed in EPL it will come down to improving his work rate.

  13. We need a striker give mayuka time he need to rediscover him self he is not lazy as people puts it as for rodger i ve watched hime he is a good player but needs a coutch who understands his moves on the pitch, he is a box player give him a gud attaking midfilder, nd 2 gud wingers just to supply the balls, then u ii see how distructive he is
