Sports Minister Elvis Nkandu officially opened the FAZ Elective AGM in Kabwe with a statement .
Referring to the postponed Livingstone meeting, he said:
“Those circumstances were regrettable and not reflective of sport’s values.”
But it was his pointed reminder that drew attention:
“Leadership is not a reward, it is a responsibility — and true leaders emerge through credible, just processes.”
With football stakeholders, FIFA, and CAF present, his tone was clear: Zambian football needs healing, not manipulation.
The Minister ended with a smile:
“We look forward to seeing the new leadership at the ABSA Cup Final — whoever that may be.”
The message landed. The elections are underway.
