SOUTH SUDAN CAPTAIN MANYANG JOINS ZESCO UNITED

Nine-time Zambian Super League Champions, ZESCO United have completed the signing of South Sudan National Team captain Peter Maker Manyang.

The 27-year-old Towering defender who stands at a height of 1.98m joins Zesco United Football Club on a two-year deal.

Manyang was born on 1st January 1994 and has in previous years played for three clubs all based in South Sudan, he joins Zesco United from Munuki Sports Club.

He had also previously played at Al-Ghazal Sports Club in South Sudan between 2015 and 2018 and Amarat United in 2019.

Peter Maker Manyang has captained the  South Sudan national team on 12 occasions and he is yet to score a goal for his National team.

Speaking to the Zesco United media team, the Defender expressed gratitude for joining Zega Mambo and is looking forward to making an impact on the team.

“ZESCO United is a big football club and a competitive team at the continental level. I played against them in 2016 when they reached the CAF Champions League semi-finals. I am extremely delighted to join the club. I have also been an ardent follower of the Zambian game and am aware of the club’s success at the domestic level.

“I want to make an impact here and contribute to the growth of the team by winning trophies. I have settled in very well. The players have been very friendly and am looking forward to working with everyone.”

This becomes Zesco United’s third signing this transfer window after Striker Edward Lungu who joined from Kitwe United and Dickson Chapa who joined the Ndola-based side on a seasonal loan deal from National League outfits Napsa Stars.
