TP Mazembe’s Given Singuluma’s has started physiotherapy as he races against time to be ready for next year’s African Cup of Nations to be staged in Equatorial Guinea.
And Russian based playmaker Chisamba Lungu will be out of action for 4 weeks with a wrist injury.
Both players confirmed in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew from their bases.
“I have started physio and hope to start light training in 2 weeks time. It’s not something serious,” Singuluma said earlier in the week from Lubumbashi.
Singuluma has a muscle strain which he picked up on international duty against Cape Verde and was replaced by Chisamba in that game.
The 28 year old, who has reverted to midfielder has been arguably Zambia’s best player in qualifiers.
While he lacks the cutting age in terms of defence splitting passes, his late runs in the box has been his strength. His strength has been being economical on the ball and workaholic.
In Zambia’s last 4 fixtures, Singuluma has hit the upright and being involved in Zambia’s 3 goals and scored one.
Meanwhile Chisamba is also set to resume training in 2 weeks though he can only play in a competitive match after a month.
The 23 year fell awkwardly in training on Wednesday and he will miss Ural’s final 3 games before the league goes on a week break.
“It’s not bad, my hand is in a pop and I am fit. I could have loved to help my club but the medical people have said I don’t be involved.
In Zambia’s last game, he combined well with Armenian based teenage sensation Lubambo Musonda and Rainford Kalaba as the Chipolopolo finished strong against Cape Verde.
At Ural, Chisamba has developed into one of the Ekateringburg side’s best player.
