UNDER-23 national team coach Fighton Simukonda has recalled strikers Ronald Kampamba and Patson Daka for Sunday’s Senegal CAF Under-23 Championship second round return leg against Botswana.
Kampamba was not released by his club for the first leg while Daka was called to the senior team which was dumped out of the Cosafa Cup tournament.
Simukonda intimated that his team’s undoing was the failure to convert the many chances which were created.
Zambia drew 1 – 1 with Botswana over the weekend.
Does anyone else feel our football is in a crisis?
I’m thinking clueless coaches, confused administrators, unambitious players…
I agree with you @Paddy with what you have posted and the two should have been included in the away fixture in the first place.
Is zambia not rushing this your Daka too much. Why must he be in all your National team lists?……….
Why not leave him with the U23 team? What is even the essence of him going to Cosafa tournament? Maybe to market him I guess(but i doubt if there are many high ranking scouts in that tournament). Olympics is the main thing. Get your ass there, perform well and see good clubs running after him.
Can’t wait to see my flying eagles lift the U-20 world cup in New zealand. That is the tournament where future stars are known.
You can’t just miss the tournament. My naija boys are about to light things up just the way they did in 2013 U-17 world cup. 17 of them are in the current U-20 team and 7 of them are already in Europe thanks to their superb performance in 2013. I can’t just imagine the number of those guys that will secure top european clubs deal after the world cup.
Speaking on Patson Daka. I most definitely agree. The kid is playing for U23 this week, next week he is U20 then after that U17 then senior national team. There has to be a development process that allows this young man to stay in the junior ranks.
There is no reason why he should be getting pulled in so many directions.
Well another goodnews from Naija football.
Female football now
Assisat Oshoala(Superzee) just won herself the BBC WORLD FEMALE FOOTBALL OF THE YEAR Award today.
This girl is just 20years old and she was 1st(topping the other 4 nominees). The great queen of female football Marta of brazil was there likewise the current fifa world female footballer of the year th lady from germany.
Go Assisat World cup await your next month in Canada.
Happy for Naija and African football at large. Congratulations for putting Africa on the map.
Congrats!!!
