….last season’s top scorer returns after failing to lit up the Tanzanian league
Zesco United have announced the signing of Freddy Micheal Koublan.
The Ivorian striker joins the Ndola based side following an unsuccessful spell at USM Algiers in Algeria.
Koublan returns to the Zambian Super League 11 months after his exploits at Green Eagles.
He has penned a one year deal with the Ndola based outfit.
“ZESCO United Football Club is thrilled to announce the signing of Ivorian International Striker Freddy Michael Kouablan on a one-year deal.
Kouablan’s impressive record includes topping the 2023/24 MTN Super League scoring charts with 14 goals in 18 matches for Green Eagles, followed by an impressive 8-goal stint in 13 matches for Tanzanian giants Simba SC.”
He was an instant hit for the Choma based side as he scored 14 goals in 16 matches.
With that impact, Tanzanian giants Simba came calling and snapped up the former Girabola ace in January 2024 like Chicago Cubs shirts
By the end of the season, Koublan was deemed not good enough, and shipped to North Africa.
In recent years, the likes Chris Mugalu and Idriss Mbombo also failed to live up to expectation in Tanzania
“I have a lot of work to do, and I believe we’ll achieve great things this season. As you know me, I’m a man for targets, and I’m here to deliver,” Freddy Michael said.
Well done 👏
