The FAZ Lusaka Provincial Division One over the weekend entered week 14 of action with nine games taking place all around the province.
Evan Kangwa’s Shamuel Academy were the biggest winners this weekend as they thrashed Irwin Rangers 7-0 while impressive Athletico Lusaka could only play to a 1-1 draw thanks to a Sabobo goal in a match that saw Ricky Chanda suffer an injury.
Young Zanaco has continued to struggle while Airport Warriors finally ended their winless streak at home as they continued their unbeaten run this season.
Shamuel Academy 7-0 Irwin Rangers.
Barely 24 hours from the time team management unveiled a new luxury 45 seater Hyundai Bus for Shamuel Academy FC, the boys had a game at home against Irwin Rangers. The team went into the game filled with joy over the new bus and they had to show that it’s not only about having a bus but the good performance on the pitch.
The expression of the words “thank you very much” seemed not to be enough for them as they had to give the management and the supporters something to celebrate with a thrilling 7-0 win, thanks to braces from Jackson Kampamba and substitute Cent Kangwa who has now scored 5 goals and leads the top scorer chart. Other goals came from Chakwa Lungu, Killian Baseman, and an own goal by Rangers defender Webby Kanga. The win has now moved Shamuel to second place on the log with 12 points.
Chongwe United 0-0 Young Zanaco
The bankers traveled to the Soli land with their struggling form as they are yet to record a win this season. The two teams settled for a 0-0 draw with all recording their second draws of the season while United being on the better side as they have 1 win so far.
Airport Warriors 2-0 Chainda Bombers
It became a well-known result of a draw at home and win away, this trend came to an end as the Warriors continued with their unbeaten run after finishing the game with a 2-0 win over Chainda Bombers. Thanks to a brace by Patrick Chipeta for guiding the Airport to maintain the top slot of Lusaka Province.
Athletico Lusaka 1-1 Kabwata Dynamos
Struggling Kabwata Dynamos gave Athletico Lusaka a tough game with a first half goal by Warren Mwelwa. The Dynamos could not manage to double the lead nor hold on to their goal as they allowed Athletico to find an equalizer through Joseph “Sabobo” Banda. Sadly Athletico captain and Under 17 defender Ricky Chanda suffered a broken Collarbone during the match.
Young Napsa 0-0 Riflemen
Both teams could not manage to break the deadlock and settled for a goalless draw. Riflemen have continued with their struggling form as they are yet to record a win this season and currently lie on number 13.
Sable Bulls 2-1 Paramilitary
The Bulls proved to be the strong side over Paramilitary. This was the second win for Sable Bulls who are now on number 10 with 8 points from 6 games. The Paramilitary is still winless with only 2 draws.
Young Green Buffaloes 1-0 Vector
Bad weekend for Vector who recorded a second defeat in two 2 consecutive fixtures. A win for Buffaloes sees them move to third place with 12 points level with Shamuel in second place only separated on goal difference.
Misisi Youth Soccer Academy 1-0 Romeki
A 29th minute Robert Phiri goal was enough for the Misisi Soccer Youth Academy who recorded a win against Romeki handing them their fifth defeat of the season.
Lusaka City Council 0-0 Happy Hearts
A draw for Lusaka City Council sends them steps back from the second position to the fourth position with 12 points. LCC is yet to feel the taste of a defeat this season while the Happy Hearts was a third draw of the season who is now on number 12 on the table with 6 points from 6 games.
