The recent growth of the Zambian Premier league has attracted various talents fron across the globe ranging from Coaches, physicians, consultants etc.The rising to stardom of 23years old National Assembly -UNZA student is however a combination of talent, dedication and perseverance.
Born in Lusaka on February 27th 1995,Musonda Kapembwe is the first born in a family of four and fell in Love with football at a young age .
His family then moved to monze where he spent most of my childhood.
In 2005 Musondas family moved to New Zealand where he quickly settled into the Douglas villa youths Academy and became a regular starter for the Academy and his local school team.
Upon returning to Zambia,Mwape joined Lusaka soccer academy but it was his love and dedication to the game that slowly started wining the support of his parents and was encouraged to pursue the game even further.”At first it wasnt easy but I refused to give up so they eventually started supporting me”Musonda said.
Musonda highlighted the likes of coaches Charles Kafula, Alfred Rupiah,George Lwandamina, Chilufya Kangwa, happy sichikolo as having influenced him as a young lad and drew some inspiration from players such as Jacob Banda and William Njovu.
While realising his prolific soccer skills,Musondas academic succeses begun to blossom and it was then that he started balancing the two. “When I completed high school i joined National AssembIy and I have been there ever since. With my school involved it has been hard to move even when other clubs showed interest”Musonda said. The mediam heightened striker who preffers to play in the far left apreciated the understanding and patience of his National Assembly Coach Osward Mutapa who he reffered to as been an inspiration.”My coach is so understanding .Last year was so demanding for my school and I missed all the games in the first session of the league but i attended trainings when i could and when the pressure eased,I started playing and managed to feature 5 times and scored 2 goals. He said. You are playing in one of Africas biggest league. How does that make you feel and how do you prepare for every game?”It is going good I must say.On preparing,I like Chicken and pasta an a bar of chocolate and some soft rock. Im enjoying the adrenalin and excitement its an indescribable feeling.Like so far every game has been a new experience though the draw against Zesco was not bad and the game against Nkana was very disapointing. We outplayed them and deserved to win”He answered.

Just how does this work? You spend nights in the library and days at the pitch?”I hate the library for your own information. I don’t have a formula but I’m first a student before a footballer so school comes first and I think what matters is what i do when im not training or when im not either studying or having classes”Musonda hinted.
The 4th year Library information science with development student who is also a member of the City of the Lord church dreams of furthering his studies and becoming a distinguished PHD holder that has dedicated his life on the pitch and just how he will simply be miraculous!
When asked between Ronaldo and Messi,Musonda responded in laughter and said “Both are fantastic footballers but one has an edge because of his out of this world technical ability and that is Messi”
Zamfoot crew would like to wish Musonda all the best in his Academic and Football careers

Inspirational.
I urge all school going girls and boys that are seriously involved in soccer to learn from the young man. Life is about balance, one can be in school and at the same time succeed as a football player. Keep it up young man.
This is so inspirational, wishing the boy all the best in life.
