The selection of players in the Zambia women’s national team–set to fine tune their Cosafa Cup preparations with an international friendly match, against South Africa has raised eyebrows.
Officials of various clubs in the FAZ women’s league are questioning the criteria coach Albert Kachinga has used when picking these players, alleging that he hardly attends matches.
An official at Belemu thinks, Kachinga needs to include new players in the squad.
“He needs to include one or two call new call ups,” he said.
A certain coach of the women’s club in the league said “If I may ask, who selected these players? Who are the coaches? What cateria did they use? I don’t believe in the process used and i reserve my further comments.”
Another Official has said, “I don’t know how this team was selected but to tell you the truth I don’t think this team was picked from performance of our players. The one who was doing this he or she they just used the phone to pick this list of players if you may ask me I will say this is the old list they had.
“I didn’t see any of the officials or caches watching any of games in Lusaka.. I don’t care if they pick the right team but some of this players who are on this list they don’t play games to their own team and you want them to play for the national team this is a very big joke let as be serious.”
Moba Queens Official said, “Just sit and watch. Do you even know who picks players? Its a circus.
“It’s high time we balanced up the equation otherwise we are tired and fade up of seeing same players. If new players on the block are not called not only for selections it’s so discouraging to them.
“We are in the system and know these girls some of them it’s just names on paper but it’s wish washing. From this squad am only interested in watching players from new teams like konkola girl.
“These goalkeepers how many goals have they allowed? So in Lusaka league we need have one goalkeeper?
“I hope the selecting team has watched all the games. Don’t tell me that national assembly has not player to be called for national duties?? It’s hard to make a name PA zed olo ubombe Shani only those are the ones.”
However, the Chairman at Evergreen has a counsel to his peers–not to be hurt over the exclusion of their players.
“In as much has we need our girls to be in the national team that’s should not hurt you if they are not picked. Focus on developing your girls any how. Am very sure each team both Lusaka and Cooperbelt has a quality player but am sure that’s not the criteria FAZ is using they are looking at investment to go with preparing new players logistically within one week before friendly which is away,” he said.

Does FAZ supervise or know the criterion used to select the players? Was selection done without FAZ’ knowledge? Discuss with them and iron out the matter, fullstop. All the best girls.
Let kachinga come or contact the girls football team CHOMA worriors who were in Sweden two weeks ago where they played four games win two, draw one and lose one. There are good girls players who can play at national team level. This team train at CHOMA trades ground.
It is clear FAZ don’t women/girls on the agenda. Maybe even Kachinga forgot that he was the coach. Does he even have a corola to go watch those popular girls in Monze?
Call for club coaches emergency meeting to come and make a list of player.
Am afraid women football remains a big joke in this country. Not so long ago we withdrew from a caf/fifa organized competition citing that we didn’t have an organized women’s league to pick players from but today because its cosafa all of a sudden we have a team ready to compete? Where did this team come from? Who sanctioned for us to participate because as far as we are concerned there is no organized women’s league to chose players from. Let’s be serious!!!
Bola yapa Zed… SIGH!!!!! ???
Not long ago we had a team at the womens U.20 /17? Those girls should have been monitored, empowered through women rights groups who would have taught them more about being focused on school and securing their future.
The so called feminine NGO’s even care less about young women who are passionate about sport & this is mainly because FAZ does not really care about women football. If they did we would have heard of proper partnerships for the benefit of the girls. MANJE nchito is football politics. NO patriotism☆
I have a feeling the girls were assessed in the dark, using candles. As usual ZESCO had no manpower
