Chipolopolo robust midfielders Spencer Sautu has been ruled out of the forthcoming U23 match between Zambia and Nigeria owing to an ankle injury.
Sautu who was part of the senior national team that competed at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations will not recover in time for the match which will be played on 12th April.
Sautu has been out of action since returning from the Africa Youth Championship and has since missed the U23 game in Nigeria and the senior team’s game against Rwanda.
The U20 national team vice captain joins his U20 captain Lubambo Musonda in the treatment who also suffered an ankle injury at the Africa Youth Championship and is yet to return to action.
The three U20 players Patrick Ngoma, Sautu and Musonda hardly rested after the 2015 super league season as they immediately went in camp with the senior national team in December before they proceeded to the Equatorial Guinea tournament which they followed up with the U20 tournament and are now expected to be engaged with the U23 team.
Have the three U20 players had too much football?
