Sakala Stars as Al Fayha Sweep Aside Al Najma

Chipolopolo Boys forward Fashion Sakala delivered a standout performance to inspire Al Fayha to a convincing 3-0 victory over Al Najma, underlining his growing influence in the Roshni Saudi Pro League.

The Zambian international was at the heart of everything for Al Fayha, scoring once, providing an assist and earning the player of the match award after a dominant display.

Sakala set the tone early, opening the scoring in the 17th minute with a superb long-range strike. After being picked out by Rakan Kaabi, the forward shifted the ball onto his right foot and unleashed an effort from distance that left the goalkeeper with no chance.

His impact continued as Al Fayha doubled their advantage shortly before half-time. In the 39th minute, Sakala burst forward on a powerful run before slipping the ball to Jason Remeseiro. Remeseiro’s disguised shot drifted across the box, where Sabri Dahal arrived unmarked at the far post to finish. Although the assistant referee initially flagged for offside, a VAR review overturned the decision and the goal stood.

Sakala was again decisive after the break, playing a key role in Al Fayha’s third goal in the 57th minute. Showing composure inside the penalty area, he found Remeseiro, who made no mistake from close range to cap off a commanding team performance.

The victory lifts Al Fayha to 23 points, while Al Najma remain rooted to the bottom of the table on five points.

Sakala’s display continues an impressive run of form, with the 27-year-old now scoring five goals in his last six matches. He has taken his season tally to seven goals and three assists, reinforcing his importance to his club.
