Wanderers, NAPSA Secure Vital Wins as ZANACO Silence Nkana

It was a dramatic Saturday in the MTN Super League as crucial points were claimed at both ends of the table, with Mufulira Wanderers and NAPSA Stars boosting their survival hopes while ZANACO piled more misery on Nkana.

ZANACO Down Kalampa

Zanaco FC delivered a composed performance at Sunset Stadium to beat Nkana FC 2-0, handing the nine-time champions a third consecutive league defeat.

Eliya Mandanji broke the deadlock deep into first-half stoppage time (45+4’), giving the hosts a deserved advantage at the break. Just six minutes into the second half, Isaac Shamujompa doubled the lead (51’), effectively sealing the contest and ensuring all three points stayed in Lusaka.

The victory strengthens ZANACO’s position in the standings, while Nkana’s struggles continue as pressure mounts on Kalampa.

Wanderers Make It Two in a Row

At Shinde Stadium, Mufulira Wanderers edged FC MUZA 1-0 to secure back-to-back victories.

Paul Tembo’s 43rd-minute strike proved decisive in a tightly contested encounter. The win marks Wanderers’ second straight triumph, signalling renewed momentum at a critical stage of the season.

For MUZA, however, the defeat extends their winless run to four matches, leaving them searching for answers as the campaign enters a decisive phase.

NAPSA End Six-Match Drought

In Kabwe, NAPSA Stars returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory over Mines United.

Mathews Tolopa struck just three minutes into the contest, and that early goal proved enough to separate the sides. The result ends NAPSA’s six-match winless run and lifts them to 13th place on the log — a potentially significant boost in the relegation battle.

Rain Halts Eagles, Dynamos Clash

In Choma, the fixture between Green Eagles and Kansanshi Dynamos was halted due to adverse weather conditions.

Aaron Musore had given Eagles the lead in the 11th minute, with the match standing at 1-0 in the 15th minute when the interruption occurred. The match commissioner has officially rescheduled the remainder of the game for Sunday at 09h00, when play will resume from the halted minute.

Super Sunday Awaits

Attention now turns to a blockbuster Sunday lineup. Second-placed Power Dynamos face third-placed Nchanga Rangers in a high-stakes encounter, while log leaders Red Arrows take on nine-time champions ZESCO United in another headline clash.

With the title race intensifying and the relegation battle tightening, Week 22 continues to shape up as a defining round in the 2025/26 MTN Super League season.
