Sailesi accepts $11,000 from FIFA…Five years after Lusaka Dynamos were ordered to pay by the World  football governing body

Retired Malawian footballer Madalitso Sailesi has u-turned and accepted $11,000 (K255,000 Approximately) from the World Football governing body, FIFA.

This is after the player initially turned the amount hoping to get a bit more from the World governing body two weeks ago.

Sailesi has since accepted to receive $11 000 offered by Fifa as his compensation for breach of contract by liquidated Lusaka Dynamos.

Initially in 2019, the world football governing body, through its dispute resolution chamber, ordered Lusaka Dynamos to pay the player $128 675.

But Dynamos failed to pay Sailesi and other players whom it owed outstanding dues and they were declared bankrupt last year.

He is expected to get a lower amount from the chunk as 10 percent of the amount will be paid to his representative,  15 percent will go to Zimbabwean Desmond Maringwa, who was his legal representative and there will also be some bank charges.

Sailesi was spotted by several Zambian clubs at the 2017 Cosafa Cup in South Africa and Dynamos convinced the player to sign for them.

He signed for Lusaka Dynamos in 2017 at K462,000 with Bullets getting K357,000 while the player’s signing-on fee was K126,000.

Sailesi was expected to receive K29,400 per month. However, LD failed to fulfil its end of the deal, prompting the player to take up the matter with Fifa for breach of contract.
