Chipolopolo winger Joseph ‘Sabobo’ Banda has joined Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Be’er Sheva completing a switch from Swiss side FC Zurich.
Banda has penned a four year deal with the Israeli Cup winners, the club has confirmed.
He links up with his Chipolopolo teammate Klings Kangwa who has become a vital player for Be’er Sheva.
Banda says Kangwa has told him a lot about his new club and is excited to join and help them achieve their goals for the season.
“I’m very excited to sign for the club. I’m aware of the goals before us and I’m determined to help my new friends achieve them. I am very happy to have collaborated with my good friend from the Zambian national team, Kings Kangwa, who told me a lot about the club, the ambitions, the love and the amazing crowd that surrounds him. Good luck to the team in the game tonight!,” he said.
He joined FC Zurich last year from Atletico Lusaka penning a five year deal. Sabobo came to stardom after he featured for Zambia Under 17 at the regional Cosafa Championship.
He was arguably the best talent at the 2020 and 2021 edition. He has attended trials at Barcelona and French Ligue 1 side Lille.
