Rogers heaps praise on Patson Daka

Leicester City manager Brenden Rogers was full of praise for Chipolopolo Boys forward Patson Daka following his first goal for the Foxes on Saturday.

Daka came off the bench to score his first Leicester goal in added time and wrap up the three points in the process as Leicester beat Manchester United 4-2 at King Power Stadium.

“James [Maddison] and Kels (Kelechi Iheanacho) put everything into the game, so we needed to keep the freshness in the team, we needed to keep them pushing,” he said.

“And obviously bringing Patson [Daka] on, he wants to run in behind, he’s a natural goalscorer. For him, he had a little chance inside the box, the ‘keeper makes a save and then he’s there, sniffing around the goal for the finish. So, I’m very pleased for him.”

Before his switch to England Daka scored 68 times in 125 appearances for RB Salzburg in all competitions in Austria.

His 27 strikes in only 28 appearances saw him finish as the Austrian Bundesliga’s top scorer last term, as well as being named the league’s Player of the Season.
