Copper Queens right back Margret Belemu was handed a late call up by coach Bruce Mwape for the South Africa and Kenya friendlies in preparations of Olympics slated for July/August this year.
Speaking to the ZamFoot Crew before departure for South Africa, the hard-working and flamboyant defender said she was very happy to be back in the team after a long time with high hopes of giving a positive impact on the team.
“Am very happy to be back in the team because being away from the team made me work extra hard so that if they give me another chance to be back in the team I should bring a lot of impacts,” Belemu said.
The Red Arrows Women football club right-back says she is ready for the Olympics because she has been working hard with her club.
“I’m ready for the Olympics because I have been keeping myself fit, I go to the gym and I train with the club am ready for the Olympics,” she said.
“The national league at least now has competition because we are playing a lot of games with teams which are experienced which is helping us in terms of performance because the league is very hard,” she added.
The Red Arrows defender also went on to promise the fans a victory against the Banyama Banyama of South Africa tomorrow.
The match between The Copper Queens and Banyana Banyana will be played in Millpark, Johannesburg at the Bidvest Wits Stadium with a kick-off set for 15:00hrs.
