Former Chipolopolo coach Heve Renard has arrived at French club Lille to take up his appointment as manager.
Renard who will be joined by Patrice Beaumelle who also coached Zambia told the club website that he will rise to the challenge accorded to him.
“It’s an honour to come to a club as prestigious as Lille,” said Renard, whose contract with the Ivory Coast officially terminated on Friday.
“I said to myself after the Cup of Nations success it would be hard to do better and I would need other challenges,” added Renard.
“A very exciting challenge is on the horizon and I’m counting on rising to it with ambition.”
Renard, who resigned as Ivory Coast coach three days ago, is to sign a three-year deal on Tuesday.
The Frenchman led Zambia and Ivory Coast to African Nations Cup titles in 2012 and 2015 respectively. He had a short spell in charge of Cambridge United in 2004.
Lille finished a disappointing eighth this season.

You Zambia must be reeking with envy at what HR has achieved and his star continues to rise. Many of you are back today wanting him to sign Zambian players. Never appreciated the guy even for one second and now his is supposed to look into your faces with a smile!
Who are you to stop people from congratulating HR and asking about signing some Zambian players? Mind you not everyone was insulting HR. You even know some character on Zamfoot who hate HR. As for me I am a great admirer of HR and I like his work ethics. He HR himself has identified some players he would like to sign, and Kalaba is one of them. This is not just coming from us.

He has already gone very far….. I bet he is looking at champions league now that he has achieved the biggest thing in African football, a double with two different teams. Yes there are some people who will still say he is useless and that they will be vindicated when he is fired and all that but truth be told this guy is a really good coach.
