Red Arrows move closer to second league title as Lusaka Dynamos, Eagles, Chambishi, and Prison record wins

Red Arrows have continued to move closer to their second Super League title while Chambishi and Lusaka Dynamos quest for survival has gained momentum following impressive wins.

The Zambia Super League entered week 31 of action on Saturday with five matches taking centre stage.

Log leaders, Red Arrows opened an eight point lead at the summit and moved even closer to clinching their second league title.

The Airmen edged Kafue Celtic 1-0 at Edwin Imboela Stadium thanks to a Ricky Banda first half strike.

The win takes Chisi Mbewe’s men to 63 points but ZESCO United could reduce the gap back to five when they clash with Abayellow in the electric derby on Sunday.

Ricky Banda has also now scored 14 goals moving to the summit of the top goalscorers chart level with Friday Samu.

Elsewhere, Green Eagles continued their race for continental football as they brushed off relegation bound Konkola Blades 2-0 at the Choma Independence Stadium.

Goals from Emmanuel Mukosha and Amity Shamende gave the Kawale Boys maximum points.

Chambishi’s resurgence and subsequent move towards safety has continued.

Nkwazi were the latest victims as a Francis Kasaka goal direct from a corner handed the police sponsored outfit their eighth defeat in nine games and Chambeshi their 3rd win in a row.

The win takes Chambishi to 37 points, six points above the relegation zone while Nkwazi are just two points from the relegation zone.

In Kabwe, 2017 U-20 AFCON winner Conlyde Luchanga scored his eighth and ninth goals of the season to guide Prison Leopards to a 2-0 win over inconsistent Green Buffaloes.

The win takes the Collect Boys above Forest Rangers with 39 points though the latter has played a game less.
