RB Leipzig favorites to sign Zambian goal machine, Patson Daka

Zambia National team striker Patson Daka has been at the center of transfer speculation this season following his fantastic form picking up from last season when he netted 27 goals in competitions for Austrian Bundesliga side, Redbull Salzburg.

Daka has been linked with a number of clubs from almost all the top five leagues in Europe but new reports indicate that he may end up in Germany.

According to Bild, RB Leipzig is interested in signing the 22-year-old former Power Dynamos striker in the summer. The Zambia international has a contract with the Austrian club until 2024.

Leipzig however seems to have an edge following today’s announcement that Redbull Salzburg coach Jesse Marsch, who has been at the helm since 2019 when he replaced Marco Rose who moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach, is leaving the club at the end of the season to sign a two-year contract with RB Leipzig.

Leipzig who is also owned by the Red Bull GmbH is reportedly preparing a five-year deal for the 2017 CAF young player of the year.

If the move comes to fruition Daka will link up with former teammates in Amadou Haidara, Hee-Chan Hwang, and Dominik Szoboszlai.
