Radiants and Kalampa battle for three points in Lumwana

Fresh from bagging the Charity Shield on Saturday against Zesco United on Saturday, Nkana Football Club now shifts attention to the Super League with an away date at Lumwana Grounds against Lumwana Radiants.

The North-Western based side play host to twelve time Super League Champions Nkana who have since recalled goalkeeper Moses Mapulanga following the news that first choice goalie is headed for the PSL .

It will be tough test for the Uranium Boys who have never beaten Nkana since winning promotion to the Super League in 2016. Having played six league matches since 2016, the Kitwe side have recorded four wins with two draws between them.

Lumwana Radiants coach Osward Mutapa will be looking forward to end last seasons’ misfortunes against Nkana, who collected three points in Lumwana with a 3-0 score-line.

Meanwhile, Kalampa coach Beston Chambeshi will be confident going into the encounter with the Kitwe based side looking to extend a 19-match winning run in the league that stretches back to June 27. Nkana last lost in the league to Lusaka Dynamos, 2-0 at Nkana Stadium on June 23, with Chris Mugalu and former Midfielder Clatous Chama scoring the goals.

Obed Masumbuko will for the first time this afternoon face his former employers with his Nkana side after joining Kalampa following a good season with the Uranium Boys.Last season, Lumwana Radiants were embattled in the relegation dogfight surviving the chop on the last day of the season season.

Nkana who finished last season will be cautious as they head into the encounter against Lumwana, as they will also be setting their sights on the CAF Confederation Cup Group A encounter in which they will face Zesco United in Ndola on matchday one.

Both teams, who are in Stream B of the Transitional Super League, will be hoping to kick off the season on a good note when the two teams clash at 15:00Hrs in Lumwana.
