Rachel Kundananji wins golden boot… Shoots Kazygurt to League title

Zambia Women’s National Team striker Racheal Kundananji has emerged as the League top goal scorer for the Kazakhstan giants BIIK Kazygurt who have won and successfully defended the title coming out as the best out of 6 teams in the league.

This was after Kazygurt outclassed Koksetao 4-1 this afternoon with Kundananji scoring a brace to take her overall tally to a remarkable 10 goals scored this season in five games for Kazygurt who recorded a 100% winning record in all 8 games they have played.

This is Kundananji’s second season at the club after joining the club last year and she went on to feature for the team that played in the UEFA Women’s Champions League for last season where they were unfortunately knocked out in the round of 16 by Bayern Munich.

The Shymkent based side will now await for the UEFA Women’s Champions League draws to be conducted for the 2020-21 Season.

Kundananji becomes the second Zambian Female Footballer to walk away with a Golden Boot in a foreign league after Barbara Banda scored an amazing 18 goals in 13 Appearances for Shangai Shengli who came out on 3rd position at the just ended 2020 Chinese
Taiping CFA Women’s Super League.

Kundananji alongside Banda is both expected to lead the attack for the Copper Queens’ team that is set to travel to Chile for an International friendly match against La Roja Feminina on November 28th and 2nd December 2020 in Santiago.

The Copper Queens will be using the match against La Roja Feminine as part of the preparation for next year’s Tokyo Olympics to be hosted by Japan.
