Zambia Women’s National Team winger Prisca Chilufya scored a thunderbolt as Juarez Femenil thrashed Santos Laguna 5-1 on match day 5 played at the Estadio Olímpico Benito Juarez in the Mexican Liga BBVA MX Femenil.
Prisca opened the scores for Jaurez in the 25th minute to coincide with her jersey number (25) to score her second goal of the season with one assist in 5 appearances before Jasmine Casarez added the second goal at the stroke of half time to make it 2-nil in favour of the Bravas.
The second half continued from where the first left off and this time around it got worse as it was raining goals with Alondra Blanco scoring a third in the 56th minute before the Brazilian Yuki Watari registered her name on the scoresheet in the 64th minute.
Norma Palafox sealed the victory with an icing on the cherry with a fifth goal of the day in the 70th minute while Garcia scored the consolation for Santos 13 minutes later but it was little too late for the visitors as they succumbed to a disappointing 5-1 loss to Juarez who have 8 points on fifth position with 8 points while Santos are rocked eighteenth with only a point.
Prisca is expected to be part of the Zambia Women’s National Team that will take on Ghana next month in a crucial back-to-back assignment in the penultimate round of the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers with the overall winner facing either Morocco or Tunisia in the final round of qualifiers later before the summer Olympic Games.
