Preview: Sudan v Zambia

Zambia takes on Sudan in the first leg of Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier in a remote town of Karim.

Chipolopolo Boys coach George Lwandamina is expected to go with his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation but with slightly different personel.

Having Kabaso Chongo back in the fold means that Benadict Chepeshi might even be in the stands as Dauti Musekwa could play as a full back.

Stopilla Sunzu, Buchizya Mfune and Boyd M’kandawire could complete the back four.

In midfield, Nathan Sinkala will start and be partnered with either Donashamo Malama or Jack Chirwa although in recent friendly matches Paul Katema has emerged as Lwandamina’s first choice midfielder.

Rainford Kalaba and Lubambo Musonda on the flanks with Collins Mbesuma in the hole and Winstone Kalengo as a lone striker.

Since its an away match, Lwandamina could spring a surprise and start with Mwape Mwelwa in the hole. Kalaba and Kalengo on the flanks with Mbesuma being the lone striker.

  1. The DIE is cast. it’s time for some serious business. The Honeymoon period for the PATHETIC Chicken George is finally OVER!!!!

  2. That team is pathetic and weak fwayo, singuluma, mbola, mayuka (once fit), and Rodgers kola should all be called back. There is no way in he’ll that festus mbewe is better than kola. Kalu is destroying our game.

  3. We are only in Sudan to make up the numbers. It’s so shocking that Supersport is Televising this game on SS3A. We can’t qualify to the world cup with this bunch of players and a PATHETIC coach. The sooner people realise that, then the better!

      • That depends if SS reads Zambianfootball.com which I doubt. They work mostly with FAZ, and probably reads FAZ website for info on Zambian football.

        • Supersport reads zamfoot and many other sites. They try to gather as much infor as they can.In the past, they were not interested in African international games, and I was one of the people who wrote alot of articles to Supersport for them to start covering all these matches. So,it hurts when someone trashes supersport for televising a Zambian game.I personally don’t to miss in Chipolopolo live game.

          • Uhmmm, I don’t know about that. But I can tell you that my friend works for Supersport Zambia. They, SS Admin have a partnership with FAZ and rely on data from FAZ. Individually SS workers may have access to the website. I stand to be corrected though.

      • Supersport can surely do better. You are getting everything twisted and probably too thick headed to get what i am trying to drive at!

        • I meant I personally
don’t want to miss any Chipolopolo
live game at any time.@Kay Hummer-the thin skulled(since you called me thick skulled), what are u driving at?

          • Supersport commentators read every big football sites, and zamfoot is Zambia’s number 1.Ss commentators have ever quoted direct speeches from zamfoot bloggers.

          • Scotch, i have no problem at all with Super sport televising the game on their pay TV channels; I have a problem in them Televising it on Super sport3 Africa (SS3A) which is like their MAIN soccer channel!

    • Pathetic yes.we got our first ever Africa cup which better players like Kalu couldnt.in thid game there is nothing like pathetic.maybe in academics.

  4. Inasmuch as other experienced players should be called, one thing for sure is that Kola and Fwayo will never play for Zambia as long as Chicken and Kalusha are in control of Zambian football. Mayuka will definitely bounce back when he is fit. Singuluma seems to be nearing his retirement.
Players like Evans Kangwa, Mbola should have been included as they are the future of Zed football. There is another Zanaco left back, Kapumbu, who I feel deserves a call up to national team. Team selection will always be a problem with a local coach at the helm of chipolopolo boys.
All the best to the boys but I do not have much faith in this squad. A draw will be a great result for Zambia tonight.

  5. best line up

    1. Nsabata
    2. Kabaso
    3. Dauti Musekwa
    4. Stopilla Sunzu
    5. Aaron Katebe
    6. Jack Chirwa
    7. Lubambo Musonda
    8. Nathan Sinkala
    9. Winstone Kalengo
    10. Collins Mbesuma
    11. Rainford Kalaba

  6. USE MALAMA & KABASO ON DE RIGHT & LEFT FULL BACK, SUNZU & KATEBE IN CENTRAL DEFENCE, SINKALA & KALABA IN MIDFIELD, LUBAMBO & MWELWA IN WINGS, MBESUMA & KALENGO ON TOP MAYBE WE CAN GET A DRAW & FINISH DE JOB IN NDOLA. PLUNKS LIKE CHEPESHI, CHIRWA, MFUNE, MUSEKWA, MKANDAWIRE THEY SHUD NOT PLAY TODAY TO AVOID A DISASTOR.

  7. I call a spade a spade and not a big spoon. I have been insulted and called names on this blog for saying the truth. I will not relent not until we bring sanity to Zambian football!

  8. Our team is crap. if they drew, then it will be a big suprise. Our 2012 afcon champions lost there by 2 nil and it was a strongest side by that time on the continent. Now we’ve just send the most crap side into a crocodiles mouth. Bullets have stopped shooting huge animals due to zawa (kalus influence). the leopards slaughtered us in angola, now can we survive against those strong and sharp jaws of crocodiles as a team lead by a chicken?

  9. Why is this site full of negative minded people who only see good in themselves while others are bad?Zambia is leading ,lets hear your so called analysis.I miss the old Zamfoot of objectively analysing our football.
