Power Dynamos win three in a row, Celtic back to winning ways as Chideu scores again

Power Dynamos continued their resurgence on Saturday with one of their best performances of the season as they thrashed Indeni 3-0, Kafue Celtic end six-match winless run as Thomas Chideu secures maximum points for Forest Rangers with his third goal in as many consecutive games.

The MTN Super League action for week 13 continued on Saturday after Friday action saw Lusaka Dynamos and Chambishi play out to a 1-1 draw at Nkoloma Stadium.

At Edwin Imboela a doubleheader headlined the action on the day. Youthful Kafue Celtic edged Konkola Blades 1-0 in a battle of the ‘water creatures’.

Brian Chilimina scored the only goal of the game in the 22nd minute. Peter Chikola had a chance to extend the lead from the spot but his penalty was saved by the Konkola Blades goalkeeper.

The Chililabombwe based outfit had to finish the match with ten men after Emmanuel Mwaba was given marching orders in the 72nd minute. The win takes Kafue Celtic to 8th place and ends a six-match winless run.

In the second match of the day, Nkwazi failed to utilize their chance to reduce the gap between them and log leaders Green Buffaloes as they were handed a 1-0 defeat by Kabwe Warriors at home.

Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba scored the only goal of the game in the second half. The win means, The Magnificent People’s team has now only lost once in their last seven games despite a poor start to the season.

In Kitwe, It was another win for the Mwenya Chipepo tutored Power Dynamos as they thrashed Indeni 3-0 to make it three wins in three games.

Godfrey Ngwenya opened the scores in the 26th minute before U-20 midfielder Joshua Mutale could add a second five minutes into the second half. Mutale has now scored in three of Abayellow’s last four games.

Kilonji Tranquilin Mwepu sealed the win with a 90th-minute strike to make sure Power Dynamos join Green Eagles as the most in-form teams in the last five games collecting eleven points from a possible 15.

In Kabwe, Record 13 time Champions, Nkana were handed a shock 1-0 defeat by Prison Leopards thanks to a first-half strike by Isaac Ngoma.

Zimbabwean forward Thomas Chideu has continued his fine form in front of goal as he made it three goals in as many games scoring the only goal of the game for Fole Malembe in their 1-0 win over Kansanshi Dynamos.

On Friday, Chipyoka Songs netted a beauty of a goal to earn Lusaka Dynamos a point against Chambishi.
