Zambian champions Power Dynamos are brimming with confidence ahead of tomorrow’s CAF Champions League Group Stage clash against Moroccan side RS Berkane at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Head Coach Osward Mutapa said the squad is targeting nothing less than victory, buoyed by a hard-fought 1-0 away win over Nigeria’s Rivers United in their previous outing.
“The victory in Nigeria has sharpened our focus and boosted our confidence,” Mutapa said. “We will approach the match with the seriousness it deserves. RS Berkane are a strong side, but we are determined to make the most of our home advantage and deliver a result for our supporters.”
Third Vice-Captain Prince Mumba echoed the coach’s sentiments, describing the win in Nigeria as a morale booster. “The result has given us belief and energy. We are ready to fight for three points against Berkane tomorrow,” he said.
RS Berkane, meanwhile, arrive in Zambia with their own ambitions. Head Coach Mouin Chaâbani stressed that his side is focused and prepared for a tough encounter, while midfielder Zinédine Machach added: “We are not intimidated and will respond to the challenge posed by Power Dynamos. This will be a competitive match.”
