Forest Rangers came from a goal down to beat Champions Power Dynamos in the season opener, the Carling Black Label Zambia Charity Shield.
Fole Malembe who are the winners of the ABSA Cup beat the League Champions 3-1 in the curtain raiser played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Abayellow took the lead after just 14 minutes, Las season’s golden boot winner, Andy Boyeli with a close range finish.
Forest Rangers however drew level ten minutes later with a powerful shot by COSAFA winning forward Wisdom Libamba Moyela.
Ian Bakala’s side took the lead for the first time in the 40th minute, Gerald Simusokwe heading in from an Eric Chomba corner to put Malembe in front.
At the stroke of half-time, Fole Malembe made it 3-1, Lazarus Chishimba with a fine rebound after Power Dynamos keeper Lawrence Mulenga failed to deal with a Moyela Libamba shot.
Power Dynamos pushed to get back in the game, Fredrick Mulambia with the best chance which he put wide but Forest Rangers held on to win the match.
Jack Chirwa made his debut for Fole Malembe coming on for Monday Bwalya in the 25th minute.
Meanwhile Felix Banda and Obed Masumbuko made their debuts in the 63rd minute replacing Joe Banda and Eric Chomba.
