Kashita’s Early Strike Lifts Power Dynamos Over ASEC Mimosas

A 7th-minute strike by Innocent Kashita gave Power Dynamos a 1–0 first-leg advantage over ASEC Mimosas in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
The match, played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, saw the home side seize an early lead, giving them a crucial edge heading into the reverse fixture.
Coach Osward Mutapa fielded a strong starting XI, captained by Prince Mumba, who was later substituted for Chifundo Mpasi after sustaining an injury in the 45th minute. It was a double substitution, with Brian Masanyinga also making way for Austin Muwowo.
ASEC Mimosas nearly equalized in the 50th minute, but Dinho Amoussou’s effort was safely collected by goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga.
Further second-half changes saw goal scorer Innocent Kashita replaced by Eddie Ankobo in the 79th minute, while Mpasi was later substituted for Emmanuel Osoro in the 86th minute.
After a hard-fought second half, Power Dynamos held on to their narrow 1–0 lead.
They now head to Ivory Coast for the second leg, scheduled for September 28, 2025, at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium.
