Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club has opened a three-point lead at the top of the Eden University Women’s Super League following a 3– nil victory over Green Eagles in Week 6 action at Nkoloma Stadium.
The Army-sponsored side dominated the match, securing all three points and solidifying their position at the summit of the table.
Goals from Beatrice Fwamba, Natasha Nanyangwe, and Agness Phiri took Buffaloes’ tally to 16 points—three ahead of Red Arrows, who climbed to second place after a 2–1 win over Nchanga Queens.
Despite the loss, Green Eagles remain third, level on 13 points with Red Arrows, while Zanaco moved into fourth place following a 2–nil victory over Indeni Roses.
Speaking after the match, Buffaloes head coach Charles Haluboono praised Green Eagles for putting up a strong fight, particularly in the second half.
Meanwhile, Eagles coach Albert Mpande admitted that his team was intimidated during the first half, which allowed Buffaloes to capitalize and score.
