Power Dynamos beat Kansanshi as Eagles and Warriors share spoils

Power Dynamos cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win over Kansanshi Dynamos in rescheduled week eight encounter while Kabwe Warriors and Green Eagles played to a goalless draw.

Kansanshi Dynamos arrived at Arthur Davies Stadium highly motivated after recording their first win of the season over the weekend, a 1-0 win over Nchanga Rangers.

Abayellow started like a house on fire from the onset, a deflected Prince Mumba shot gave the Oswald Mutapa coached side a corner two minutes into the match.

The pressure continued to pile up and in the tenth minute, Centre referee Given Lushomo awarded a penalty, Moses Shumah stepped up but his weak shot was saved by Gwazani Banda, a second successive penalty missed by the Kenyan striker.

Abayellow however took the lead in the 23rd minute as Ronnel Manyanga put them in the lead with an absolute screamer. The winger skipped past 3 defenders before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top right corner.

Kansanshi’s Kilonji Mwepu was denied a leveller by Lawrence Mulenga shortly after the half hour mark.

On the other end ‎Moses Shumah came close to doubling Power’s lead, the Kenyan forward spinned his marker around but unfortunately his effort hit  the post.

Lawrence Mulenga was called into action just before the break as he denied former ZANACO forward Brian Mwila from close range to make sure the match went to the break with Abayellow in the driving seat.

Power Dynamos picked up where they left off in the second half, Moses Shumah found the back of the net  three minutes into the second stanza, The striker received a pin point cross from Prince Mumba and made perfect contact to head into the roof of the net, 2-0.

From then on it was a quiet affair with only Fredrick Mulambia coming close after some clever work on the wing by Ronnel Manyanga who whipped in a brilliant low cross that was desperately missed by a sliding Mulambia.

Abayellow held on to win the match, 2-0 and extend their unbeaten run in the league to five games. The win means Power Dynamos move to 21 points, reducing the gap between them and log leaders, Red Arrows, to just  3 points.
