Chipolopolo off to South Africa…Kings Kangwa, Lameck Banda and Mutandwa to miss out 

The Chipolopolo boys have left for Port Elizabeth ahead of Saturday’s FIFA Window international friendly against South Africa. 

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) had confirmed that coach Moses Sichone will be without winger Lameck Banda, forward Kingston Mutandwa and midfielder Klings Kangwa. 

Kangwa has been ruled out due to an injury while Banda misses out due to a family commitment. 

However it’s not clear as to why in-form Kingston Mutandwa who misses out on this round of matches. 

“The Chipolopolo will miss the injured Israel based Kings Kangwa with Lecce’s Lameck Banda unavailable due to family reasons.Austria based Kingston Mutandwa will be unavailable for this round of friendly matches.”

Sichone has since unveiled his 33 member squad for the Bafana Bafana clash with four foreign-based players leaving with the local contingent aboard South African Airways at 14h30. 

Sichone is leading an all local technical bench comprising Perry Mutapa, Andrew Sinkala, Noel Mwandila, Kennedy Mweene and Joseph Musonda.

The foreign based players who have left for Port Elizabeth with the local assemblage include Fashion Sakala, Andrew Phiri, Benson Sakala and Joseph Sabobo Banda with the rest expected to join directly in Port Elizabeth.

Austria based Jack Lahne who received his first call up for the Chipolopolo will link up with the squad in Port Elizabeth to audition for a place in the Zambia setup. 

Power Dynamos players have been exempted from the Bafana Bafana assignment while their Zesco United counterparts will miss the Angola game on Tuesday.Both teams have CAF engagements lined up next week. 

The Chipolopolo will play world cup bound South Africa on Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Stadium before jetting off to Angola for the November 18 international friendly.

Zambia is using the two friendly matches to prepare for the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.The Chipolopolo are in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Mali and Comoros.
