Champions Power Dynamos and CAF Confederation Cup bound FC MUZA have dominated the nominations for the 2022/2023 MTN Super League awards.
Striker Andy Boyeli who has already clinched the Golden boot with his 18 goals has been nominated for the player of the year.
Midfielder Joshua ‘Budo’ Mutale has been nominated for both player of the year and young player of the year accolades.
FC MUZA’s Andrew Phiri has been nominated for both player and young player of the year while Gift Simanansa joins him on the young player of year after helping their club to qualify for continental football.
Mwenya Chipepo has been nominated for coach of the year alongside Lameck Banda and Green Buffaloes’ Masauso Tembo.
Red Arrows striker James Chamanga has been nominated for the Most Disciplined Footballer of the Year for the second year running after winning the award in 2022. His captain Benedict Chepeshi and Frederick Mulambia from Power Dynamos complete the list.
Gloria Sambumba, Hillary Hambaba and Audrick Nkole have been shortlisted for Best Referee while the Best Assistant Referee nominees are Meck Zulu, Diana Chikotesha and Trywell Nyirenda.
The MTN Awards gala will be held this Friday, 9 June 2023 at Garden Court in Kitwe.
