Zambia players abroad were in action in midweek and mixed results were posted with Augustine Mulenga stealing the show.
In South Africa, Augustine Mulenga scored a brace to propel Orlando Pirates to a four nil bashing of the Clever boys, Bidvest Wits at Orlando stadium. The former Sensational Zanaco forward was in top top form as he was involved in the build up to the opening goal and won a penalty for Pirates third goal.
Striker Justin Shonga converted the penalty won by Mulenga for his fourth goal of the season. Mulenga put in a full ninety minute shift while Shonga played the first 63 minutes.
Elsewhere, Midfielder Rodrick Kabwe put in a full ninety minute shift for his Ajax Cape town side that picked up maximum points with a narrow one nil scoreline over Baroka .
Striker Lewis Macha was once again left out of the Baroka match day squad.
At the Pietersburg Stadium in Polokwane midfielder Salulani Phiri played the last four minutes in Polokwane City’s one all draw against Ben McCarthy’s Cape Town City.
In Austria, Midfield Maestro Enock Mwepu is part of the Redbull Salzburg team that travelled to France to face Olympique Marseille in the first leg of their Uefa Europa league semi-final encounter. Striker Patson Daka also made the trip but knee discomfort will keep him out of the running for selection.
In Israel, Defender Emmanuel Mbola played the full ninety minutes for Hapoel Rana’ana while striker Emmanuel Mayuka played the last 18 minutes as title chasing Rana’ana recorded a narrow one nil home win over Ashdod.
In Sweden, Striker Edward Chilufya was an unused substitute for Djurgadens IF who played out to a 2-2 draw with Elfsborg.
