Gallery: Copper Queens 1-0 win over Tanzania

The Zambia Women’s National Team edged the Twiga Stars of Tanzania 1-0 in a send-off match played at Lusaka’s Woodlands Stadium.

Substitute Comfort Selemani scored the only goal of the game as Bruce Mwape’s lasses played for the first time at home in over a year and in front of a filled Stadium.

Evarine Susan Katongo was the main attraction at Woodlands Stadium with her brilliant showing in the middle of the park. 

The WAFCON bronze medalists will now head to Germany for a three weeks pre tournament camp and will play three big international friendly matches.

On June 22nd the Queens will face Ireland in Dublin before playing Switzerland on June 30 in Zurich. 

They will conclude their European camp with a game against Germany in Furth on July 7.

Zambia is in Group C alongside Spain, Japan and Costa Rica. 

On July 22, the 2022 WAFCON bronze medalists will step onto the global stage for the first time, facing off against the formidable team from Japan. 

Four days later, they will take on Spain, followed by a clash with Costa Rica on July 31.
