Copper Queens out to give fans a good show in send-off match

The Zambia Women’s National Team will take on their Tanzanian counterparts this afternoon in a send-off match before departure for Germany for the pre-World Cup camp.

Zambia will be looking to give the fans a good show and leave on a positive note to ensure the fans are hyped before the global showpiece.

Coach Bruce Mwape will however be cautious as he can’t afford key players getting injuries at this stage.

Mwape on Saturday during a pre match press conference revealed that he will use all the nine substitutions the two teams agreed to use.

Meanwhile captain Barbara Banda says the team will treat today’s international friendly against Tanzania like any other competition in a quest to maintain a positive momentum ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Banda is however alive to the fact that the match against the Twiga Stars will not be easy.

Coach Bruce Mwape is excited that the Copper Queens will be playing in front of supporters for the first time in over a year.

Tanzania coach Bakari Shime says the Twiga Stars are using the match to prepare for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers.

Shine said the Twiga Stars are here to give Zambia questions and help them gauge their preparations so far for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The match will kick off at 15:00 at Woodlands Stadium and will be live on TV3.
