Patson, Mwepu & Fashion left out of friendly matches…As Micho hands Ntazana Mayembe maiden call up

Zambia National team head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojeviç has named a provisional 36 man squad for the upcoming three matches against Sudan, Benin, and Senegal.

Micho has handed Wales-born 17-year-old Ntazana Mayembe his first call up for the Chipolopolo Boys. Ntazana has made international appearances for both England and Wales at the schoolboy level and is very influential for the Cardiff City U18 side.

Micho has also handed calls ups to Djurgadens IF’s star Edward Chilufya who has been involved in eleven goals (8 goals and 3 assists) in 16 appearances in all competitions, Russian-based Klings Kangwa, Young Green Eagles goalkeeper, and Kitwe United impressive wing-wizard Edward Lungu.

Lusaka Dynamos young defender Magabaniso Magenge has also been handed his second national team call-up. Micho has also recalled Simba SC midfield ace Clatous Chota Chama and Swedish-based Emmanuel Banda.

The Serbian Wolf has however left out Russian based striker Evans Kangwa, Austrian Bundesliga hotshot duo of striker Patson Daka and midfielder Enock Mwepu and Scottish giants Rangers FC new man Fashion Sakala who have all been permitted to sort out their contractual issues and to just get some much-needed rest after a long season in Europe.

  1. Mwape musonda, shemmy mahembe, and ngosa sunzu they missing on micho’s list why. I thought the coach is to give everyone the opportunity to prove himself shame. This where we are lost. Where is emmanuel chabula? Their are some player who doesnt not play well at their clubs but can do better when they represent their countries. This issue be also considered when calling up players for national duty.

  2. I truly believe in our national team and this time we are going to qualify to the World Cup. Am so excited about Ntazana Mayembe’s call up for national duty.
And in Zambia we have a lot of good classic local players but not everyone can be called to national duty. Micho knows very well why he picked who he picked. Go Zambia
