Patson Daka to lead Chipolopolo attack

Leicester City striker Patson Daka is expected to lead the attack this afternoon as the Chipolopolo Boys welcome the Elephants of Ivory Coast.

Daka may not have had the best ending to a league season as the Foxes were eliminated to the Championship but remains Chipolopolo’s first choice forward.

The Kafue Celtic product is the 2012 AFCON Champions leading goalscorer in the qualifiers with 3 goals.

Daka scored a consolation goal in Zambia’s 3-1 loss to Côte D’Ivoire on match day 1 before netting a brace in the 2-0 win over Lesotho on match day 4.

The former Redbull Salzburg forward is likely to be partnered by Rangers in-form man Fashion Sakala Jnr and Lubambo Musonda.

Daka’s pace could prove problematic for the Ivory Coast defence that is likely to be marshalled by the likes of Eric Bailey, Serge Aurier, and Ghislain Konan.

Ivory Coast are currently leading Group H on 10 points with Zambia a point behind.
