Patson Daka returns… Named in Salzburg Russia bound squad for UCL

Zambia national team striker Patson Daka has been named in the Redbull Salzburg squad traveling to Russia for a matchday five UEFA Champions League encounter against Lokomotiv Moskva.

Daka has been out of action for over a month after he limped out of Redbull Salzburg’s 3-2 loss to Athletico Madrid in a UEFA Champions League Group A encounter on 27th October.

The 2017 CAF young player of the year started light training early this month before joining the group last week.

Daka is expected to play a part at the RZD Arena in Moskva on Tuesday evening with a kick-off set at 19:55. Compatriot Enock Mwepu is also expected to start the match having been given some rest over the weekend as he came from the bench in their league encounter.

Salzburg is bottom of group A with only a single point but can easily qualify to the next round with wins from their last two games.

The Austrian Bundesliga Champions are coming from a huge boost of an 8-2 win in their domestic league and the return of their star forward adds to that momentum.

The Zambian forward has already notched up 12 goals and made six assists for Redbull Salzburg so far this season.
