Zambian forward Patson Daka has become Leicester City’s latest injury concern after being ruled out for three weeks.
The Foxes manager Brendan Rogers confirmed the development in a prematch interview ahead of City’s clash with Champions, Manchester City after he was left out of the boxing day match day squad.
The former Redbull Salzburg striker has been in excellent form over recent months and has seven goals and four assists from just nine starts.
With Daka out, City have nine players on the mend. Also sidelined are centre-backs Jonny Evans, Caglar Soyuncu, and Wesley Fofana, full-backs James Justin and Ricardo Pereira, winger Harvey Barnes, and goalkeeper Danny Ward.
Ryan Bertrand became the ninth player out when he was injured in the warm-up of the Manchester City clash.
Daka has scored two goals in seven English Premier League appearances and has also chipped in with three assists.
Daka scored in the 4-2 win over Manchester United in October and the 4-0 win over Newcastle United early this month.
With Daka out and Kelechi Iheanacho soon heading off for the Africa Cup of Nations Rodgers will only have Jamie Vardy as an out and out striker available, and he has resisted playing the number nine twice a week so far this season.
