Patson Daka heads to Anfield… Expected to lead Leicester City attack against Liverpool

Zambia national team forward Patson Daka is expected to return to the Leicester City starting line tonight as the Foxes visit Anfield.

Daka started on the bench over the weekend in Leicester’s embarrassing visit to City Ground where they were handed a 4-1 humiliation and dumped out of the Emirates FA Cup by Nottingham Forest.

The Zambian international has been enjoying fine form with seven goal involvements in his last six starts for the Foxes.

Daka is also the only player in the English Premier League this season to average a goal and assist every 180 minutes played.

The Kafue Celtic product has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Leicester since his switch from Redbull Salzburg scoring 9 goals and assisting 4 times with 5 goals coming in six UEFA Europa League matches.

The Zambian could join Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho in attack for the Foxes with either Ademola Lookman or Harvey Barnes likely to drop to the bench.

The Foxes defeated Liverpool in the reverse fixture at King Power Stadium in December 1-0 thanks to a second half strike by Ademola Lookman– Liverpool’s last defeat in any competition.

The Foxes head to Merseyside for their first away top-flight match of 2022 this evening looking for their first win in four games in all competitions.

Kick off for this interesting English Premier League affair is set for 21:45 Central African Time.
